Matthew House is so incredibly grateful for the army of partners who regularly pray for the ministry. We truly could not do, what we do, without YOU! With that in mind, we are trying hard to do a better job of keeping you updated on Praise Reports and prayer needs.
Praise Reports:- The AC has been replaced in our two shared living areas at an unimaginably cheap cost, AND the vendor (Absolute Comfort) held a fundraiser for us. Between their discount and donations received we only need to raise $10,000 more. PLUS the units have heat pumps, so they will also save us money in the winter! Last but not the least, Absolute replaced our broken and leaking hot water tank!
- HPAC attendee, Shane Bedal of Bedal's Plaster and Drywall stepped up to repair and paint the walls of our laundry room. Residents now have a clean, safe, and fully functional laundry room to use.
- We had opportunity to work with our partners at SafeFamilies. One of their Host Families provided short-term care for one of our littles while mom was in the hospital following an emergency c-section. I am thrilled to report that Mom, her daughter, and her new baby boy are all back at Matthew House and are doing well.
- Thanks to generous donors, all of the children staying at Matthew House will be receiving backpacks, lunch bags, and basic school supplies.
Prayer Requests:- Samuel, the Host/Property Coordinator at our Chappell site is moving on. Having arrived as a Refugee Claimant in 2022, we are thrilled to see him secure full-time employment, purchase a car, and now move into his own home. However, this means that we need to find the right person to step into the ministry at that site. Please pray that the Lord leads us to the right individual or couple who has both the skills needed, and the heart for this ministry.
- Families continue to struggle to find permanent housing. Please pray that they find favour with property owners and are able to move into their own homes.
- Church partners have begun planning activities / services at Matthew House such as Worship Nights and ALPHA. Please pray that the Lord send us more ministry partners, especially for our Chappell site. And, that the Lord use these times to connect refugees with believers so Gospel conversations can happen and they can get connected to church families.
- Finally, Ride For Refuge 2024 is coming up in just ONE month! This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and we are behind in participants and in $$ raised. - please pray that we hit our targets for teams, participants, and dollars raised!
