September 23 – These Questions Make my Head Hurt

Proverbs 13: 16 and 20 (NLT)
“16 Wise people think before they act;
fools don’t—and even brag about their foolishness.
20 Walk with the wise and become wise;
associate with fools and get in trouble.”
Do your friends make you better or do they drag you down?
Do your friends sit around complaining about their wives/husbands? Or do they encourage you to be actively involved in making your marriage better? Perhaps by their example, or by crazy and helpful hints they pass along as you chat about what you’ve all been up to.
Do your friends find their kids a big burden, a responsibility they feel that always comes in the way of what they want to do? Or do your friends enjoy their children and look for ways to make their kids’ days more interesting?
Do your friends concentrate on things that are really not that important when you really think about it? Or do your friends encourage you to get involved in areas that are helpful in some way?
Do your friends head to church occasionally when there isn’t anything else to do? Or are your friends really committed to following Christ?
Just some questions for you today – do your friends make you better or do they drag you down?
