Proverbs 18: 10    (NLT)

“The name of the Lord is a strong fortress;
     the godly run to him and are safe.”

Fortress:

noun

1. a large fortified place; a fort or group of forts, often including a town; citadel.

2. any place of exceptional security; stronghold.

This verse is one I want you to think about all during the day.  Knowing that God can be a place of exceptional security is really amazing!  Our world today seems so insecure. We hear about threats from terrorist groups and wonder when they will hit Canada the way they do Europe and the Middle East. The wars in Ukraine and Israel seem to be continually escalating. The political scene in the States seems to be getting more fractured by the day, and Canada appears to be following a bit behind. More mass shootings hit the news. We worry about the safety of our children.  We worry about their health and social/physical development. Peace and security are just not the passwords for 2024.

But God says He is a strong fortress.  That when we run to Him we are safe.  I want you to think about that today. How is God a strong fortress for you? Make a list of all the things God has done for you. See if you can make a list a page long.
