The Bible is full of ‘one anothers.’ Jesus calls us to love God first, and to then love our neighbours as ourselves. These together are the greatest commands and on them hangs the whole Law and the Prophets. Jesus is not only a great model for us of how to live our lives loving God and others, but He gives us guidelines. After the sermon on the mount He instructs us with a list of ‘one anothers.’ These are PRACTICAL things that we can do to show love to others around us. The list of ‘one anothers’ is a great way to focus on our character and how to become more Christ-like. Taking one a week, or even one a month and making it a focus is such a logical application moving us into godliness. Let’s take a look at some of these:

Love one another.

Live in harmony with one another.

Serve one another.

When you come together to eat, wait for one another.

Bear one another’s burdens.

Be kind to one another.

Forgive one another.

Teach one another.

Encourage one another.

A quick google search will give you 59 ‘one anothers’ of the New Testament.

These are all practical Christianity. They are ways to become more like our Saviour and to love our neighbours as ourselves.

I encourage you to choose one of the exhortations from the list above and make that your focus for the day  or even the week. May you practise it and see God grow you in maturity as you focus directly on His Word and let it transform you.
